Star Wars: The Old Republic - Bioware MMO announced

Edge Gamasutra For those of you into such things. Sounds great but personally I can't get with the MMOs.
The creative director on the project is James Ohlen, who's credited on titles including Jade Empire, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate.
BioWare co-founder Ray Muzyka said that the company has been wanting to make an MMO for a decade, but was waiting for the right partners and the right IP. And Star Wars is about as strong as an IP can get.

that's bad news to me, i thought it'll be kotor3 or something similar. MMO i'm sure many won't be happy ...

Yeah, KOTOR 3 would have been better but it will come in time. I can't believe the plethora of MMO's that have come out or are set to come out. Everyone's trying to cash in I guess.

You cant do story in an MMO.
I think MMO's effectively destroys the ability to make a singleplayer expirience set in the same universe/timeline.
So a another game with thousands of jedi running around.
Hopefully Bioware wont destroy Mass Effect with a game like this.

MMOs don't work if you dip in and out, you'll always get pwned by people who spend 23hours a day on it and like messing everyone else around. As much as I like star wars games, meh, not interested - still awaiting kotor3 thank you very much
