Nine Inch Nails - Gave Up

The Broken video freaked me out so much the first time I saw it. Nice to see Youtube hosting it! For any fans of the new stuff who haven' t seen this (and the whole Broken video) it' s highly recommended.

A Shellac cover, but Subtle are one of my favourite bands right now. Their For Hero: For Fool album is genius. Hip hop with Devo sensibilities.

My parents bought it for me on launch day and i played it on my first [proper] PC -running a Pentium II @ 333MHz

I' d played the original game on my fathers PC not long after that came out but Quake II was one of the first game i played through on my computer.

I remember arguing with 2 kids in my art class over which was better - Duke Nukem 3D or Quake. I loved Duke like everybody else but the Doom and Quake games had huges impacts on me and so when Quake II was announced and i started saying it would be the best first person game EVAR!!1! they all jumped onboard the Unreal bandwagon...

I hated Quake IV though...[:' (]

Hehe. No Q4 never had that atmosphere the first two games had, and the weapons felt wrong. Nail gun rocked.

But there were some parts that were technically brilliant especially with the sound and some of the vistas. Didn' t really fit with the dark industrial world the originals laid out, it was more flashy and sci-fi. But I thought it was a good game in its own right.

I never played much Quake, and didn' t actually play Duke 3D until a couple years ago, but I' ve got some very distinct memories of shotgunning barney in Doom WADs.
